A high award for Salzburg
- 2nd place behind Dubai for the renowned Conga Award
- 25,000 international specialists selected the winners
- 3rd place went to Vienna –even above cities such as Las Vegas, Paris and Zurich
(On July 2nd, 2007 Salzburg/Hamburg)- an outstanding awards for Salzburg: Salzburg landed second place behind Dubai in the category “international destinations” in the renowned Conga Award, selecting the very best worldwide destinations for conferences and conventions. 25,000 professionals chose their favorites in an extensively wide survey.
The prize was awarded in Hamburg, during the course of the STB 2007, a
leading trade show for the German event branch. Vienna carried third
place behind Salzburg, and both of these Austrian destinations are
backed by some very prominent names: additional winners included among
the top ten are Las Vegas, Paris, London and Zurich. Barbara
Schwaiger, Director of Sales & Marketing at the Salzburg Congress
House, accepted the prize as a representative for Salzburg.
Klaus Schmidhofer, Manager of the Salzburg Convention Bureau: "We are
really quite proud of this award. This serves as proof for all the
great work done by Salzburg’s event centers, locations, hotels,
agencies and service providers. This is the sort of prize which serves
the event organizers as an orientation assistant for selecting future
conference destinations. This is why it’s so important to be right up
in front here."
The Conga Award is the only prize which awards all the service providers in the event field. The winners will be chosen in ten categories altogether: convention centers, moderators, conference hotels, event agencies, event technology, consultant, event locations, national destinations, international destinations, and artists.
